Notice on political asylum in Germany
Political asylum in Germany can only be requested from within the country, that is by persons who are in the Federal Republic of Germany. It is not possible to seek asylum at a diplomatic or consular mission of the Federal Republik of Germany.
Given this legal framework, the German Consulate General in Istanbul has no legal discretion to assist with any individual requests for asylum or refuge status in Germany.
